The UK’s power production industry has come out on top in a survey by the American Council for Energy Efficient Economy (ACEEE). The study looked at 12 of the world’s largest energy producing economies, analysing a range of areas such as fuel economy and energy efficiency targets.

Praising the UK’s performance, ACEEE executive director, Steve Nadel, commented that ‘...countries using energy more efficiently require fewer resources to achieve the same goals, thus reducing costs, preserving valuable natural resources and creating jobs.’

However, despite the UK beating the USA into ninth place, ACEEE found that none of the countries surveyed are realising their full energy efficiency potential.
